Leaders from more than 20 states gathered in St. Louis to release the first report card ever produced for the entire Mississippi River Basin, covering 31 states and 41% of the continental U.S. Working with 700+ stakeholders from over 400 organizations, AWI graded six goals: clean and abundant water, marine transportation, flood control, the economy, recreation, and ecosystem health. The overall grade was a D+, a sobering but galvanizing baseline for action.
