River Connections & Looking Ahead

In partnership with Tulane University’s School of River & Coastal Science and Engineering, AWI hosted River Connections — drawing nearly 200 scientists and practitioners to advance collective action across the watershed. The Mississippi River Watershed Advisory Committee (MRWAC) launched, and Dr. Teresa Baraza joined as Senior Watershed Scientist to lead the program. Fourteen years in, AWI continues to grow the collaboration needed to ensure a sustainable future for America’s greatest river system.
